Great Christmas at the Bradleys Austin got his Wii Conner got a new bike Garrett got a guitar. Angela got her pink DS & stuff from Kohls. I even got a new truck. Santa was good this year
How in the world do these guys do the flying sequences? I am thinking that they just keep jumping up and down while moving forward and then edit out the parts of the video where their feet are on the ground?
Angela is running in the Nike Marathon this weekend. She is running for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I am so proud of her. They have a very cool Virtual course on this page THE RACE the course Click on the Button that says View Virtual Tour (PC Only)
This Hydrogen Fueled Rocket makes Hydrogen fuel from citric acid crystals. I didn't know that citric acid had hydrogen in it, that can be released with water.
It reminds me of SkyLink which is fantastic. I just got back from DFW. Here is a Link to a cool Time Lapse video showing the construction of a Sky Link station.
7 Eleven is dropping it's Citgo gas. I rarely shop there, but I like the fact that they are not supporting the likes of Hugo Chavez. I will definitely support 7 Eleven , the next time I have a hankering for a Big Gulp.
Well it's really sad that Steve Irwin was killed today. I am really sad for his family, especially the kids. I do think that he had lived a charm life up until today.
Silently Blue Cross is becoming Blue Shield. Why? Because the Terrorists are winning. Big healthcare corporations like Blue Cross are caving to the demands of millitant Islam. And the doofs that we are, Americans are blindingly letting them get away with it.
Well Shields are used in battles, so somewhere down the line they will have to remove that from their name, because Shield will no longer be politically correct.
Thank goodness I no longer have Blue Cross. I will not ever invest or sign up with Blue Shield.
OK I understand that when the Red Cross is in Syria, they have to be called the Red Crescent, they want to do their charitable work, and don't want to upset the locals.
Last weekend I had planned to take my Five and a half year old with me up to Sacramento to visit Grandma. I got the low fare from Southwest Airlines $49.00 each way. Well my kid is afraid of fast rides at Disneyland, but I thought that I had him convinced that Air travel was no big deal. Well when we were just about to get on the plane, he started to freak out. I tried to carry him onto the airplane and put him in a seat, but he was screaming big time by now.
It was terrible. There was not a soul on that plane that didn't hear him screaming and crying. I asked the stewardess what I should do? She was great, she tried her best to console my son, but he was inconsoleable by now. Another stewardess came up to me and asked if we could take the next flight. As we were getting off of the plane, I set Garrrett down just before the cockpit doors. Well he made a left turn at the front door and booked it up the jet way and out into the airport lobby.
(I'm sure that applause broke out on the plane)
This is where Southwest was so great. I talked to the flight assistants at the Gate that we just came from. Racheal was one of the girls names, I don't remember the other girls name. They were great. Racheal calmed down Garrett. then she scheduled me on a later flight that day. Well I wasn't going to try and get Garrett on another plane that day, so I called my wife and had her bring Conner, my Eight year old down to the airport. Southwest transferred Garrett's ticket over to Conner, and we made the 3:30 flight to visit Grandma. Garrett swears that he will fly in a couple of years, but I think I will let my wife take him next time that we try.
I suppose that the airline could have treated me pretty badly, but they didn't. They could have charged me to transfer the flight, but they didn't. They could have chewed me out for disrupting a flight, but they didn't. They transferred my flight, and got me on the next flight without any charge. No problems and whithin about two minutes. On Sunday, my return flight reservation had Conner's name on it. ( I thought that I would have to change that, but they had already taken care of it.) I wanted to send an Email to Southwest to thank them, but they don't accept Emails.
Spent 4 days in Yosemite last week. That place is awesome. We actually camped in Bass lake which is about an hour away. We are definitely going to Hike Half dome next time.
If you want some background music while you are working on the computer, Pandora is pretty cool. Here is an example of a Radio station that you can setup.
OK Heres the Story. I bought some new tires and wheels for my truck. I found an ad in the online version of the Recycler. So I had my old Tires and Rims that were still in decent shape. I auctioned them off on Ebay. They listed for $40.00 and final bid was $40.00. The winning bidder paid with Paypal. He emailed me through Ebay and gave me his Cell phone number, so a few days later I met him at the baseball park and gave him the Tires and wheels. A month goes by and then I get an Email from Paypal saying that the $40.00 deposit was on hold. They say that they were investigating the transaction. A week goes by and no word from Paypal, so I Email them, and they say that the use of the funds was fraudulant. They also say that since I didn't ship to a verified address, and didn't have a business account I wasn't eligible for protection. basically the SOB that took my tires probably ripped me off. I don't know for sure maybe he wasn't even at fault? Maybe it was his girlfriend pissed that he was buying tires. Anyhow it was only $40.00, but thankfully it wasn't a whole lot more. Can you imagine if I had sold a motorcycle or something? All of Paypal's propaganda led me to believe that it was a safe and reliable way to do online transactions. As far as I am concerned $40.00 is a cheap lesson learned that Paypal can not be trusted.
These are links from J-Walks "Blogs I Read" Page They are'nt formatted as nice. I don't know why he removed the page? Perhaps I should ask. Anyhow, sometimes I like to visit some of these sites too.
Remember back in the First Gulf War. Iraqi Soldiers invaded Kuwait, and it took a coalition of forces to drive them back. Mostly U.S., but also British and many others liberated Kuwait. Well Bush 41 never toppled Saddam Hussein, so one of the legacys was that The Al-Rashid hotel had a mosaic installed on the floor in the hotel Lobby that resembled Bush. It wasn't a particularly flattering picture, and I guess in Arab culture that is very disrespectful to walk on someones picture.
Sometimes I think that Bush 43 was hopeful of going to war with Iraq just to tear out the floor of the Al-Rashid Hotel.
The Refurbished Pirates Ride is Open at Disneyland. Austin and I rode it. The additions are all good. The most impressive is the Smoke screen Video of Davey Jones. Here is a video with Johny Depp's impression of the ride.
One of my favorite parks to go to when I was a kid was Boysen park in Anaheim. We called it Airplane park because their was a real life jet fighter on the playground. I'm pretty sure that it is an A9-F-8 Cougar We could actually crawl through the Exhaust pipe into the belly where the Jet motor once was. They have since plugged up the tailpipe and intake ports. They also coated the aluminum Skin with gunite, but it's still a great piece of playground equipment. I wonder if this is where my fascination with airplanes started?
