HighVoltage

I saw this on the Science channel.
I'd do that job. I wouldn't like it, but I'd do that job.

High Points

Here are the Highest points in the U.S. by State.
I always knew that Mt Whitney is the highest point in the 48 contiguous states, but there are quite a few states that are close 2nd.
The graph really does show how much higher Mt. McKinley is than all of the rest.
I got the info Here.

BuzzBall

BuzzBall looks like a lot of fun.

Facts of Life

I haven't checked all of these, but they are pretty compelling.

I always wonder what new technology that I am falling behind on?
I don't have a Facebook account, LinkedIn, nor a MySpace.

Plane of the Month

Air Force One Chill.

I was in Jr High when this Earth Wind & Fire song came in.
I still like that tune.

What was that?

The Whiper-snap-o-meter
Click on the .mp3's
I can't hear the 14KHz, but it drives my young wife crazy.

FreeFall

Cool Website with lots of Skydiving photos
Joejennings.com
I liked the classic Jeep falling out of the Plane with two people jumping out.

Boat of the Month

I really like this more than the 2008 Corvette Limited Edition Sport-V boat.
The Water car looks to be faster on the water, though I am sure that it's not, but you can drive it off the ramp.

Train of the Month

When I was a very young child we took a train ride back to St Louis from Anaheim (Los Angeles)
I was about 7, or 8, but I vividly remember riding in the Dome car.
Here is a site that has some great pictures from those days.
They use the body of a train for shops at Disney's California Adventure Theme park.

Boat of the Month

It's a Vette, no it's a Boat.
Whatever, it's Cool!

What was That? I couldn't hear you!

I don't hate Harley's.
I love Custom Bikes.
American Chopper is one of my favorite shows.
I can't stand the way that so many people put the stupid straight pipes on their Harley's, and then insist on revving them incessantly.
Here is a fantastic post on what is wrong with the Harley mystique.
I can't agree with everything he says, but it is a great article.
I think I'm gonna take the Mini Van down to Cooks Corner and straighten out a few guys this weekend. Wish me luck :-)

Loud Boom box, Loud Bike, Loud Boat, maybe your overcompensating?

P.S. the Harley pictured may well have mufflers in the tailpipe.

Chrome

I downloaded chrome over the weekend.
My first reaction is that I like it.
It is noticebly faster than Firefox.
Can't figure out history though.
The main reason that I won't be using it is...

Yeah it kinda looks like Simon.

YahooLogo

Yahoo is following Google's lead in customizing the logo.
Right now they have a back to school logo.
If you click on it, the link goes to their back to school guide, so it is completely self promoting, but I like it anyway.
At the time of this post, Google's logo is standard.

What day of the Week was that?

Ever want to figure out what day of the week a certain day was, or what day of the week a date in the future will be?
Want to do it in your head?
You need the Doomsday Algorithm.
I wish that I could calculate it faster, but I think that I've got it down well enough to figure out for this year, maybe the next couple.
Cool way to impress your friends, or win a buck at the local watering hole.
