Battleship Island

I'd love to explore this place.
I guess it was once a coal mine, with housing that once held the distinction of having the highest population density in th world.
There are probably shafts that go down to coal seams that are underneath the sea floor.
It kind of reminds me of Kowloon walled city in Hong Kong.

The Debt Star

This made me laugh.
Then it made me cry.
Not really, the future will be here soon enough, and it's gonna be alright.

Super Chimney

This sounds like a good idea.
Build it into the side of a mountain.

Kodak uses threats to get you to fork over cash

I have used Kodak Gallery to share photos with Friends.
It was a Free service and I thought that it was pretty good. I personally haven't bought any prints though.
I know that my sister has.
Today I get an Email from them letting me know that they will burn my photos if I don't pay up.
Because you currently do not meet the minimum purchase requirement established by our new storage policy, your stored photos will be deleted from your Gallery account if you do not act soon.
Here is your current status:
Current photo storage:2.10 GB
Purchase requirement:$19.99
Amount you have spent:$0.00
Amount you need to spend:$19.99
Deletion date:05/16/2009

So if I buy $20.00 worth of Coffee mugs and 4 x6's they'll put the matches down, but only for a year.
I think that they pretty much lost any chance of ever selling a camera to me in the future.

Amphicar

One of my all time favorites.
The Amphicar.

I didn't know that Lyndon Johnson had an Amphicar.
I was perusing this site on Presidential Limousines, and they noted that "LBJ used to love to scare unsuspecting guests by driving into the water."

EpochTime

Its getting closer!
Eventually it will read 1234567890! (Friday, February 13th 2009, 23:31:30 UTC)

Good thing someone built a counter.
Here it is.

What the heck is Epoch time anyhow?

"The Unix epoch is the time 00:00:00 UTC on January 1, 1970."
Of course Excel uses the number of days since 1/1/1900, so the Excel date code of 123456789 won't be here until 03/16/12233. Probably not gonna make that one.

I think that the time is right
to hang the old For Sale sign
up on the Blog.
Of course I will accept payments.
I wonder how accurate this is?
Check yours?

Motorcycle of the Month

Hubless Monster
I really like the look of this.
It took me a while to figure out how the drive works.
Its friction driven, so there is a smaller drive wheel in between the back wheel and the rear wheel.
Like a Ferris wheel.
According to Amen design's Milestone page, it's 5 years old.
