Boat of The Month

This Boat is currently running 4th in the Volvo Ocean Race.Boats often exceed speeds of 30 knots (70km per hour).
Here is a cool Map of the race.
I really like this kind of advertising.
I like Jerry Bruckheimer films too, so I'll definitely see Dead Man's Chest when it is released.
Update: The Black Pearl is in First Place. Here's a Cool 4.5 Meg Video.

Lake of the Month: Salton Sea

Salton Sea
The surface of the lake is only 50 feet higher in elevation than Death Valley.
I spent a lot of time here when I was young: duck hunting, camping, and and motorcycle riding.

Beer For Dogs

While searching for Soft drinks with The One and Only Slogan I found Apple Beer.
Don't know if it ever came in a clear glass bottle, but it is my number one candidate .
More importantly I found this Beer that you can buy for your dog.
What will they think of next?

Worst Dictators
Parade Magazine has an anually recurring article on the world's 10 worst dictators. One thing I like about Parades Online version is that they allow Reader Comments.
It just amazes me how many people wrote in how George Bush should be on the list.
The lefts comments are so rediculous, that it is hard to take them seriously.
I didn't see Saddam on the list this year.
Oh yeah, he got pulled out of a rat hole not too long ago.
Muammar al-Qaddafi of Lybia is No. 11.
He used to be higher up on the list, until he saw what happened to the Iraqi dictator.

Chinese Beer Cans

On my last visit to China I noticed that the Beer cans had Poptops very much like what we used to have here twenty years ago.
You would think that they would embrace the same technology that we use. At first I thought that they just are using our old tooling, but that's not it.
I think that these may use less aluminum than the style that we are used to?
Even the Softdrinks had these style pull tabs.
Incidently I was able to buy Coors and Bud in the Supermarket, but most of the restaurants that I went to mostly served tsing tao (ching tao). That's the official beer of China.

Wikipedia

It's amazing how fast information gets posted on Wikipedia.
I was watching the New England Miami game today and saw Doug Flutie drop kick for a Point After Touchdown.
I mean just two minutes after the play I googled drop kick and saw this quote "The most recent execution of the drop kick in an NFL game was made by Doug Flutie, quarterback of the New England Patriots, against Miami Dolphins on New Year's Day in 2006 for a point after touchdown (i.e., counting for 1 point)."
Then within an hour, somebody (maybe the same person?) added the Hyperlinks and this snippet "This was the first successful execution of a drop kick since 1941."

Airliner of the month

My favorite Airplane the Boeing 747
I don't know for sure, but I think that it has some serious competition by the new Airbus A380.
One thing I just found out is that the Airbus 380 has Aluminum wiring.
I know that it's all for weight savings, but I wonder just how safe that is?
Lake of the Month

Lake Baikal
Worlds Largest freshwater Lake
All of the Great lakes could fill it.
The water is so pure that you can drink it without any filtering.
It has Freshwater seals too called Nerpas.
