Scary Goblins

Well being stuck here passing out candy.
I figured that I would log in how many trick or Treaters we got.
66 gouls and goblins, princesses, ninjas, firefighters & cowboys rang the doorbell between 6:00 and 8:00.

Most of them were too cute.
There were only a few teenagers that should have stayed home to pass out candy.
I didn't have to give out any tootsie rolls.

Edit: We got around 7 more between 8:00 and 8:30.
HAppy Halloween.

Grand Canyon Bridge

The Grand Canyon bridge looks like that may be a good place to get vertigo.
I guess it's supposed to open early next year.

Airport Monitor

Here is a page where you can click and see real time (well I think it's delayed 10 minutes for security) images of Airplanes flying overhead.
You have to click on the Continue to AirportMonitor link.
Cool Huh.

Here's LAX

Here's a Movie showing all U.S. flights during a 24 hour time period.
From this site.

Apollo !!

This Site Has some really cool information on the Apollo missions.

And This Site has some ver good images.

The achievement of landing men on the moon and bringing them back is sorely underappreciated by society at large.

I am impressed though.

Horse Racing

Angela and I won some tickets to get into the Turf Club at Santa Anita Park.
Actually we won them at a silent auction fundraiser.
I guess that they are having Oak Tree Racing there now.
I haven't been to the Race track in a long time, and I have never been to the Turf club.
We are gonna go on Friday with some friends.
Now I'm a T-Shirt and Jeans kinda guy. I don't usually wear a coat and tie, so I am a little aprehensive about the dress code.
I think that I'll just wear some dress slacks and a collared shirt I don't know.
I'm sure to bet on the hose with the most techie sounding name.
Two dollars on "Firewire" to Win. Go Baby Go!
Wish me Luck.

Balancing Rocks

This Site has some cool photos of Rocks being balanced.
My favorites are the natural ones.
Check out the Balancing Point videos here.

Things to do when the internet is down

Sitting in your chair hold your leg out straight and rotate your right foot in circular motion.

Now with your right hand draw the number 6 in the air like your writing on a chalkboard.

:-)

Happy Halloween

Check out Norm's Jack-O-Lance

Yea. I know it was probably five years ago, but it's still Too Cool!

Chevy Cobalt

In August when I had to go to Abilene, I rented a Chevy Cobalt from Avis.
I really liked that car.
Then Last month I had to rent one again but I got the 4 door.
Still a great car.
Although a good portion of the assembly may be in Canada, I think it has like 75% U.S./Canadian components.

Right Wingers

Any man who is not a socialist at age 20 has no heart. Any man who is still a socialist at age 40 has no head.

You know the older I get the more I find these guys make some sense.
Well here's one for example.

Stole this from Darrels Blog. Thought that it was cute

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5-Year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy.

The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling be expected to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the language is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords Containing "ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensibl riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

Wasting time

Want to waste time stealing letters from others.
Go Here
Last week I spent about 10 minutes preventing some yahoo who was trying to spell out obscenities.
He was pretty persistant.
I Finally gave up

Down by the water

Angela took the boys to the beach last week.

Water Car

Just got the new issue of Popular Mechanics.

They had a cool car in there that will do 50 MPH on the water.
Very Cool!

Tripple C's Rock! Why?

Chocolate Chip Cookies Rock!
What a profound statement. (well maybe not)
Actually I think that I have liked chocolate chip cookies for as long as I can remember.
Home made are the best.
Yes I actually bake them myself sometimes.
You haven't enjoyed life untill you've had three boys under 10 help you bake cookies in the kitchen.
Macadamia nuts make a good cookie better.
They gotta be made with real sugar, real brown sugar, and fresh flour, otherwise you can taste it in the final product.

Chocolate chip cookies are best fresh out of the oven.
I like to freeze the rest of cookies after they are baked, then you can put one or two in a toaster oven to warm them up for a late night snack.... NICE

I don't care for store bought cookies.
Never buy them.
I've tried the pre-made dough, and while it's nowhere close to the real thing, it will do in a pinch.

Vegetarians

I'm not a Vegetarian.
I don't think that we would have evolved this far if we were all Vegetarians.

The only thing that bugs me more than Vegetarians are Vegans.
I mean how rediculous is that! No milk, No Cheese, No Eggs.
I once went to a wedding where the dinner was Vegan.
They had Fake Cheese on the sandwiches. ... iick!

Actually if you don't want to eat meat that's your business, but don't tell me not to.
I do like Vegetarian Pizza though. :-)
